Overview
Villa Basho is a compact three-story home tailored to a narrow urban plot. The design opens the house to a private back-garden with a pool and pergola, while the street façade remains calm and well-shaded. A warm palette of timber slats, light render, and dark metal accents gives the house a contemporary Mediterranean character.

Concept
The project flips the typical townhouse layout: daily life is drawn toward the garden. Sliding glass doors connect the living areas to a deep, steel pergola that works as an outdoor room. Vertical timber screens provide privacy to the upper floors and soften sunlight throughout the day.
Architecture & Plan
• Street side: clean composition of white volumes, a tall vertical window, and timber cladding that frames the entrance.
• Garden side: full-height glazing, pergola with louvers, and a timber pool deck for seamless indoor–outdoor living.
• Spatial organization:
• Ground floor: living/dining/kitchen opening to the veranda and pool.
• First floor: bedrooms with shaded balconies.
• Second floor/loft: master suite or studio with terrace (flexible use).
• Materials: light mineral render, timber slats, dark coated steel, glass balustrades.
⸻
Landscape
• Pool court: linear pool with timber deck for lounging and dining.
• Planting: pine and cypress for shade and privacy; low-water groundcover along the plot edges.
• Microclimate: pergola and trees cool the garden and filter light into interior spaces.
