Project Summary
The goal of this project was to restore a small historic church in the old center of Durrës, returning its clarity and dignity while strengthening the structure for long-term use. Work focused on revealing the original stone masonry, repairing classical elements, and improving the entrance sequence for everyday worshippers and visitors.

Design & Conservation Approach
• Reveal the fabric: Later render layers were removed to expose the authentic stone façade.
• Respect the order: Pilasters, bases, capitals, and the triangular pediment were repaired and reprofiled; the oculus windows were conserved with new frames and glazing.
• Entry sequence: The arched gate and metal grille were refurbished; the stepped parvis was reset for a dry, even approach.
• Gentle services: Discreet rainwater pipes, lighting, and notice boards were integrated with minimal visual impact.
• Materials: Lime-based mortars compatible with historic masonry; stone patching where missing blocks were replaced in kind.
