Concept

This monumental art installation stands as a tribute to the founders of Rotary in Durrës and as a broader symbol of civic commitment and enduring service. Its form is fluid and vertically dynamic, resembling a stylized bell that calls the community to action, a timeless metaphor for awakening, unity, and collective responsibility.

At the heart of the structure lies a spiral, a universal symbol of continuity, growth, and infinite embrace. The spiral flows upward without a clear beginning or end, representing the ongoing and ever‑evolving mission of Rotary to serve humanity. It embodies the essence of community spirit, a force that adapts, transforms, and perseveres through time.

Facing the Adriatic Sea, the open horizon, and the setting sun, the sculpture engages with its environment in a conscious dialogue. It reflects the unwavering contribution of civic society, resilient in the face of life’s waves, limitless in aspiration, and oriented toward renewal and progress.

More than a visual landmark, the installation is a mirror of community conscience, a reminder of shared values, and a call to action for future generations.

Materials & Symbolism

The material palette is purposeful: Corten steel’s earthy patina, the resilience of stainless steel, and the warmth of bronze together symbolize strength, legacy, and the human touch.

The work connects the local identity of Durrës with a universal message: that service, solidarity, and hope can shape a brighter horizon, for the city, the nation, and the world.
